Star Trails  
NASA's picture of the day demonstrates what happens if you leave your camera on timelapse while you fall asleep and then compose the resulting images into one. You get a picture of the movement of the stars as the Earth rotates!

V nice too.

What are the off-centre yellow trails? Too many, and too low down, to be meteors ... fireflies?

NASA says they are fireflies, good guess!
