Well this is interesting  
No water in the taps*.

Oh well! I suppose we shall just have to drink wine.

*Effecting whole street. Burst water main. United Utilities aware of and working on the problem.

Too true. Apparently we are promised water again at midnight "if all goes well" (an ominous phrase if I ever heard one).

Maybe a Tiger came to someone's house and drank all the water out of the taps... -N

This is a very plausible scenario. The tiger also visited every other house in the street.

Thankfully the water was back on this morning!

There are worse ways to spend an evening than drinking wine. Of course, it won't help much when it's time for a shower.

Luckily for the representative of the European Space Agency who I was giving a demo to today, the shower was working again this morning.
